The key is in the motivation. When you are unconditionally loving it is a guarantee that no matter what the seeming affects, it will be in the highest good of all, even if the one you give to misuses the gift. Love, in its purest form, and its handmaiden of appropriate assistance, are never expended in vain. But when motivation is unclear and lacking unconditional love, then indeed all the energy expended may truly be in vain. The illusion is that the reward is in the result, the fulfillment is in the process of unconditionally loving and appropriately assisting.

Spiritual Awareness

You cannot be spiritually aware in isolation, for spiritual awareness only comes in the expansion of the perception of yourself. Spiritual awareness is in direct proportion to the horizon of your reality.

By assisting others on their journey you expand your community – the perception of themselves overlaps into their perception of each other. Community occurs when you can see out of more than your own set of eyes, when you can hear out of more than your own set of ears. That ability, in and of itself, creates the Christ consciousness.

When one truly merges with the consciousness of another individual there can no longer be negative ego. Negative ego lies within the realm of individuality. To merge into the oneness is divine, then the universe does not fight against itself – and it couldn’t.

Conflict arises only when there is a belief that there is something outside of yourself. When you stand at the center of creation at the source of All That Is, there is only you. And you can never be alone.

There are many gifts you can give to another, but if any gift were to be considered a sister to love, it would be compassion. The art of compassion, when mastered, empowers the receiver and heals the giver.

First, what is compassion and what is it to be compassionate? Let us start by asking you to remember a time when someone showed you compassion. What did it look like? How did it make you feel? For many, the answer would be that the other person understood what you were feeling at face value and interestingly enough, did it without participating in the emotion or the event.

The art of compassion is the ability to acknowledge without judgment and understand without involvement.

The non-prejudicial attitude and acceptance validates the receiver’s experience and therefore, empowers them. The non-participation in the emotion allows the giver to heal themself of similar energies, by understanding it in another, they understand it in themselves. Compassion’s uninvestment is based upon the giver’s ability to forgive the self so that the person can accept another without judgment or participation. Compassion to another is their declaration of forgiveness which is why it is such a powerful healing expression of love.

Compassion is born from one’s own self-acceptance, and therefore, it is safe to accept another.

Does the giver of the compassionate act have to have all their “ducks in a row” in order to act so? No, but by an openness to forgive and accept the other, healing is facilitated.

The purpose for titling this concept “The Art of Compassion” is to emphasize to the reader that compassion is a delicate dance of love between two people wishing to be healed—for reaching out to another in compassion is an act of embracing yourself in love.

A failure of many modern societies is to not honor the elderly.

With age there comes wisdom of years and wisdom in understanding the journey that lies ahead. Each and every phase of human existence is intentional, purposeful and meaningful. How humanity has interpreted them is an aberration of the original plan of physical existence. When an individual is seen as more than their physical form, chronological age or their ability to contribute to society, humanity will more fully understand the phases of life.

Is it any less honorable to be the seed that sprouts or the leaf that falls to the ground to nourish it?

This is the grand cycle of physical existence and both are necessary. So be it the child that is the sprout or the elderly that is the leaf about to fall from the tree, all have value. For the fragrance of the blossom of consciousness is never lost and the sweetness of the fruit that falls to the ground never dissipates in the realms of the consciousness of God.

Life, existence, and the universe in which you dwell, although a cyclical movement, is a spiral rather than an enclosed circle that is ever expanding from each life lived. So every sprout of humanity that is born and every leaf that falls propels that spiral upward and closer to the creator. Every living being leaves its mark on the consciousness of All That Is and the consciousness of All That Is is better for it.

Every living thing, be it a fox or a fern, adds to and raises up the consciousness of God.

Dear ones, you are the gardener that tills the ground, plants the seed, nurtures the sprouts and harvests the fruit through the phases of your physical life. Perhaps in this discussion we have given you new meaning to the garden of Eden for existence is a garden that bears a rich harvest of consciousness.

Individuality is deeply ingrained within the psyche of humanity. Though desperately held onto by humanity under the illusion that it creates a sense of safety, security, empowerment and freedom–individuality, in reality, is a prison.

At the very heart of negativity is the concept of separation. The horizons of one’s consciousness is in direct proportion with that which they perceive themselves part of or one with. A sense of belonging is very important for the human emotion. When an individual is in a meaningful relationship, be it in a marital, parental, or societal interaction, they feel more than themselves. There has been in the recent past a thrust within spiritual or religious circles to emphasize the oneness, the unity, with one another.

Even scripture speaks of the body of Christ, that unsung, “mystical” level. Humanity is entwined and inseparable from each other. In the pursuit of the creation of community, the very process ironically creates fertile ground for prejudice, judgment and separation. More damaging to the awareness of the oneness of All That Is than “I” and “they” is “we” and “they”, the collective consciousness of separation.

The double-edged sword of creating community is that there are those within the identified community and those without.

The result being further separation. Examples of this collective communal structure is countries, religions and socio-economic classes. The error in the attempt to create an awareness and connection with the oneness of All That Is, is that the individual is seeking to preserve itself, in the truest sense “likes attract likes.” For example, individuals of a certain socio-economic class, education or belief system congregate together, unwittingly reinforcing their self identification rather than expanding who they are. They reinforce their individualization by finding homogeneous groups and individuals that deepens isolation.

In one’s quest to expand into a union with All That Is, one must be willing to step outside the box to pursue an integration with that which is unlike one’s self, never forgetting that which is different is in fact equal. No truer words were ever spoken than “love your enemy.” For when you love your enemy you dissolve the separation and therefore dissolve the conflict.

At the very core of the law of the Oneness of All That Is is that which is outside of yourself you are in conflict with. Darkness, evil, negativity, “the devil” are born from that dark area created by you that falls outside the light of your conscious awareness of unity with it.

Let us reiterate, that darkness is that which falls beyond the dusk of awareness. Humanity, in its separation from the consciousness of God, has come to believe that that which falls outside of oneself is real, more powerful. and frightening. Look at any conflict, look at the current affairs of the world, look within your own life, where conflict, anxiety and stress reside. In every case, every circumstance and every situation, you will find at the core of the conflict the seed of separation. The world more than ever is looking for answers. Terror is systemic within our very psyche and societies. Individuals are challenged from natural disasters to political philosophies. In each and every case, that conflict resides in the belief that that which is outside you has power. In reality, that which is outside you does not exist. The conflict is not out there, the conflict is within yourself because you are incomplete. The peace you seek is within.

Of course, we have heard that many times. We do our spiritual practices, we read our books, we go to our groups and organizations, all in an attempt to feel connected. As indicated earlier, true community is not to reinforce your individual identity but to expand it. The answer to the dilemma is really quite simple. Everything you hear, everything you see, everything you touch, everything you taste, everything you smell, you are one with. We have been taught to preserve ourselves, inborn within us is the instinct of survival, and that instinct flows over to more than just physical survival, it spills into the emotional, intellectual survival and the ultimate survival–spiritual. That in itself is a fallacy that one cannot survive. Within the physical structure of humanity there are innate instincts to protect its physical life, but when one identifies with the whole Being that one is, there can be no fear of survival.

The key is the further one looks out from themselves, the closer they come to who they are.

We are not speaking here of meditation or intuition, we are speaking of letting go, that you are you as you perceive yourself to be. Reach out like a sponge and absorb all that you encounter. Do not be afraid for that which you integrate into yourself cannot harm you; for darkness, fear and negativity does not reside in oneness.

You have heard it said that one who seeks to save their life loses it. The filter is love, but love is not sitting on your individuality and showering another with good thoughts. Love is becoming one with that individual. One with your world.

The planet speaks to you. What does she say?

If you want to know, listen to the birds singing. Listen to the chirps of crickets, the hum of bees, and cacophony of locusts. Listen to the breezes and winds. There is a voice greater than can be spoken in words. Become a participant and adapt to your rightful place on Mother Earth, and the birds of the air will feed you, the winds will become calm, the ground beneath your feet will become firm because you have become one with All That Is upon this planet.

The awakening of the new energy moving in vibrational waves across Mother Earth.

There is no longer the luxury of being the spoiled, belligerent, selfish children of Mother Earth. We say this not to be critical but with the hope that you would take the opportunity that is being offered to you. All is not lost. Ally yourself with those that seek to better the world. Take action in your own life to be a responsible user of planetary resources. You say, “What can we do? We must drive to work. We must heat our homes.” Unbridled greed and woeful mismanagement were not created in a day; nor will these conditions be eradicated in a day.

Respect a greater power–the evolutionary power of this planet.

This earth is evolving. This planet is in the beginning stages of making a powerful shift to its very core, to better prepare, and create an environment for God-conscious living beings.

Do you understand that your love of yourself is the foothold into the perception of who you are. Look East, West, North, South and you will only see yourself, but yourself is beyond this physical being, this self is the One Mind and the One Thought that fills your being with love.

Paradise is love itself. The concept of good and evil erodes the concept of love of self.

We would wish to give you the universe, but it is already yours. Your body is an anchor to your world, and your planet is an anchor so that you can view the universe. Behold, the mind of God and then you understand peace, a peace that the world cannot give.

The world can give its best shot, but it can not hinder you from anything you must do or are willing to do. It has no power here; for, it is written in your holy writings that nothing can remove you from the love of God, omniscience. And when you stand in the One Mind and the One Thought, nothing ever created or ever will be, can remove you from that dominion because all in your reality is in alignment to the place you there. There is not even the desire to remove you. Behold the awareness of the One Mind and the One Thought.

Life has been extolled as a beautiful, precious opportunity but it is not always easy.  Unfortunately, many of its difficulties are often inflicted unnecessarily and without thought. It is not always the direct assault of someone “gunning” for you that causes the greatest emotional and psychological damage but the insults, insensitivity and inconsideration that you receive on a daily basis that are most harmful.

Humanity’s individual pain, often expressed in subtleties, erodes away at the quality of your life and those around you. As a result, to use an analogy, your life becomes like an old car that has lost its luster, dented and dinged but still runs.

The damage inflicted when these dings and dents occur often go unnoticed, ignored or disregarded, but they still leave their mark on the “finish” of your life.

All humanity has been both on the giving and receiving end of these seeming minor insults and injuries in their lives. As a result, life becomes, perhaps unconsciously, unsafe and even dangerous. A gnawing sense of vulnerability and a need to fortress oneself against others becomes commonplace.

Don’t fool yourselves into thinking that insults, insensitivity and inconsideration–no matter how small, that humanity has come to accept as socially acceptable behavior–are not a systemic infection of consciousness that if left unchecked can fracture the very foundation of oneness.

Often the defense for such behavior is that it is spoken in jest or thoughtlessly uttered and wasn’t meant, but it is always out of judgment that humanity will sling its barbs and arrows at its often unsuspecting victims.

Do not destroy the luster of your life by the little dents and dings you inflict on others.

For, as you well know, judgment is of self–so the “stones” you throw will ricochet back to your direction. Be conscious and careful to tame your thoughts and words, and respect that even the smallest of insults, insensitivity and inconsideration has a lasting effect on you—not necessarily the one you inflicted it upon.

Which brings us to the point that when the “stones” are thrown at you,  you have a choice to emotionally dodge and psychologically duck their aim, and therefore, remain unscathed.

Be guardian of your thoughts and sentry at the gate of your words. There is a saying among you that is not ours but we concur,

“Do not speak of a thing unless it is necessary, it is kind and it is true.”

This attitude will remove the dings and dents that you have inflicted on your life and make your life “shiny and new” again.

Receptivity without responsiveness, or responsiveness without receptivity, is energetically sterile and unable to conceive creation.

Receptivity is the acceptance of the creative process. It neither implies understanding or ability, but openness, while responsiveness is evidence that the energetic gift was integrated into your conscious awareness. They are the first cause of creation and are innocent of dogma or dictates. Receptivity and responsiveness are the handmaiden of magic and the domain of the inner child.

They encapsulate the purest potential of creative consciousness.

Though necessary to create and the foundation of All That Exists, they can neither be taught nor learned for they are the automatic catalyst to the consciousness of creation unfiltered by either belief or theory. They are your natural allies to your creative attributes. Therefore, be aware of your receptivity and your responsiveness to what you wish to create, for they are indicators of your connection to your innate abilities as a creator in your life.

You enhance your abilities to receive and respond by surrendering your intellect and allowing the creative process to flow unhindered. You can trust your receptivity and responsiveness to guide you to your desires, for though they are the domain of your magical child, they are the voice of your soul in your creative process of consciousness.

For those who are familiar with the teachings of Jesus, they can easily fill in the rest of the title. For those who may not be as familiar, these words begin a litany of blessings to the hungry, thirsty, sick, suffering and sorrowful.

Throughout the centuries, these words, “Blessed are those who…” have been theologized and philosophized to the point of losing their original meaning and intent. They have even been used to glorify human suffering. Nothing could be further from the truth. The creative source of all things does not wish its children to suffer, but when they do suffer, they are held in a special place in the heart of consciousness and special attention is given and assistance is offered.

The words offer to the disenfranchised of the world that they have an advocate—the creator itself—the creative consciousness of all things seeks the well-being of all its creation. To glorify hunger, thirst, pain, suffering, sorrow and human misery or see it as a pathway to God is absurd in the light of the consciousness of the source of all things.

Jesus’ blessing to the people was that God was aware of human suffering, was concerned and gave special attention to those experiencing it. The message to all creation is that the source of all things does not abandon its children in times of need. When you feel most alone is when you are not alone; when you feel most powerless is when most power is given.

Therefore, the message to humanity is that the human condition is not something you must tolerate, resigning yourself to your “lot in life,” but you may transform it and that you will be given everything you need to do so.

Your existence, be it as a spiritual being or as a physical life form upon this planet, is neither arbitrary nor accidental. Your existence has been called forth by divine command, and it is important that you are here and imperative that you are present for the universe to be total and complete.

Your physical expression, your divine nature is a piece of the puzzle that reveals the identity of the creator. There is no excess or frivolity in creation; everything that exists is a necessary part of the whole. Everything and everyone has meaning and measure in the grand scale of events unfolding in your universe.

Love has been defined in many ways. We would like to suggest another:

Love is the ultimate acceptance of the value, uniqueness and importance of every living thing, which in essence includes all of creation.

This definition enhances the concept of God as love; for, the ultimate self-acceptance is the realization of your own importance, uniqueness and value separate from any other influences or factors.

The negative ego consciousness will quickly grab a hold of this concept to cause you to deny that truth which is yours. The negative ego consciousness will declare you selfish, egotistical, self-righteous and self-aggrandizing; whereas in truth, the definition that we declare is one of humility, service and willingness.

It is in this spirit that you come to recognize your value, and as a result, you can be confident, capable and courageous in your journey through life.
